Panasonic Invites Handheld Gamers To The Jungle

Panasonic announced a new clam-shell handheld gaming system called the Jungle.

The Jungle is features a QWERTY keyboard, a touchpad, dual d-pad controls, shoulder buttons and a high-resolution display. It also boasts a mini HDMI port, a micro USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Jungles manifesto - as stated on its official website - states that "we [Panasonic] began this journey by asking gamers what they wanted. Almost unanimously, we heard calls for online gaming products. Some gamers wanted a handheld, some wanted new content, others new experiences (one dude wanted a tattoo of the Kalphite Queen). In response, the Jungle was born."

The promotional video on the website emphasized that several MMOGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) such as Bettlestar Calactica, Online Underground and Runescape will be playable on the Jungle.

Early reports claim that the Jungle will run Linux OS and will have Wi-Fi capability even though it was not mentioned in the official specs.

Panasonic WTF?

They tried their hand @ video gaming w/the insanely overpriced 3DO in the mid '90s. I bought one for half a grand (CDN). With all that's already established, WTF's gonna wanna buy this thing to play 3 games on it?
