PistolMouse FPS Now Available

MonsterGecko announced it is now shipping its PistolMouse FPS, a high-performance mouse for first-person shooter (FPS) games. Announced during E3 2004, PistolMouse FPS provides gamers with faster reaction speed and precision optical tracking. It has realistic pistol styling, dual aluminum triggers, an over-sized selectable scroll wheel, ergonomic hand position, and a high-resolution 800 dpi optical sensor.

It seems that gamers have responded well to the device already, with the company running-out of units based on pre-orders alone. Our pre-order demand was so great that we actually sold out of our first shipment before it even arrived and we delayed our shipping announcement to wait for additional units to come in, said Ain McKendrick, co-founder and CEO of MonsterGecko.

Most mice, joysticks and gamepads require full-hand motion or repositioning of fingers to execute certain actions and don't provide the resolution or precision needed for first-person shooters.

The unique patent-pending base design of the PistolMouse FPS incorporates an offset optical sensor for quick response with simple wrist action. The PistolMouse FPS includes a primary and secondary grip trigger, plus an ambidextrous selectable thumb scroll wheel for both right and left-handed players. By not having to reposition fingers to reach these controls, the PistolMouse FPS design gives gamers instant activation of four separate actions that can be customized in most games. Combined with the precision of a high-resolution optical sensor, and improved ergonomics, the PistolMouse FPS allows gamers to one-up their opponents with unmatched reaction speed.

Whether one is new to FPS gaming or a hard-core gamer looking to improve his or her performance, the PistolMouse FPS meets the needs of all players. Its innovative design and comfortable handling makes it easy to adapt to, and provides gamers with a more immersive experience in both single-player and multi-player environments over traditional mouse designs.

The PistolMouse FPS has an MSRP of USD 69.95 and is compatible with both PC and Macintosh computers with a USB port. The PistolMouse FPS is now available online from MonsterGecko's site and from a variety of other web locations. Please follow the download tab for a list of online outlets for the U.S. and Europe for the Pistolmouse FPS

Customers can also order by phone at 1-800-77-GECKO. The PistolMouse FPS will be available at select U.S. retail outlets later this month, and will soon be available through worldwide resellers and distributors.

This gun will never replace optical mouses for fps. It does have a nice concept but I just think it will be precise enough for games. IE Call of Duty when your using the bolt Action. I bet every noob that sux at CS, COD, and battle filed are gonna buy this thinking there going to be leet. I bet my life that they'll be more noob than ever before :p

90% of my mouse movement is done with my fingers... Moving the whole arm just to play a game is going to make a bunch of nerds have lopsided arms. People that buy this gimmick will look like they masterbate far too much after a month of use.

Looks fun, but it'd be nice to feel one out at a store like Best buy or something first before getting it, do you lift it like a pistol? or does it scroll across the table like an oversized mouse? If it felt right though, i'd buy it in a heartbeat.
