Last year, Nintendo along with 53 other companies petitioned the Tokyo District Court to ban the sale of the R4 flash cart, and it seems that their motion has finally been granted.
Japan has banned the sale of R4 flash carts, but the ban didn't extend to any other brands. Nintendo plans to continue pursuit the rest of the flash cart industry, but this may take some time.
