Rage Release Date Unveiled

The official release date of id Software's anticipated First Person Shooter, Rage, has been announced during QuakeCon.

Rage will be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC simultaneously on September 13, 2011 in USA and September 15, 2011 in Europe. The game has been confirmed to run at 60 frames per second on all 3 platforms.

id Software technical director John Carmack has also showcased a demo of Rage running on iPhone 4 at 60 FPS. Carmack noted that the demo was able to "kill anything done on the Xbox or PlayStation 2".

Two versions of Rage will be released for the iPhone. The first will more of a technology showoff and will be released later this year, while the second one will a fully featured game that will be released alongside the PC and consoles versions of the game in 2011.

This is gonna be another glorified tech demo, crippled by a graphical gimmick *hurr it's dark HURR*. id needs to get Romero back.
