Description It is good to know that Nintendo is still doing what they are best at: Inventing new controllers.
Nintendo's latest innovative control system will hit DS as a peripheral that plugs into the handheld's GBA slot and extend beneath the system, allowing it to Slide!!
The new "Slide Controller" will be bundled with a"sliding adventure" game called Mag Kid. In Mag Kid players will utilize the new Slide Controller to control Mag Kid through the levels with the aid of his special magnetic properties which make things attach to him. Sliding the DS in an enemy's direction makes Mag Kid ram into and paralyze the enemy. Paralyzed enemies can be attached to Mag Kid, giving him, depending on the enemy type, special powers, including lasers and fire breath. Finally, when you've lost interest in your support crew, you shake the DS to release them.
The effect of the new controller on DS's portability and the eye strain caused by constantly sliding the small DS screen are still questionable but with Japanese launch of Mag Kid scheduled for August 2nd, expect those questions to be answered soon.
