Sony: No Plans For Playstation 3 Price Cut

Speaking to investors, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan chief financial officer Nobuyuki Oneda confirmed that Playstation 3 won't be seeing price cuts any time soon.

Interestingly enough, Oneda using the same reasoning and analysis expressed by Microsoft's director of product management for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, Aaron Greenberg, only 4 days ago.
Oneda even used almost the same words as he explained that Sony is "focusing on profitability".

"Our strategy is not to sell more quantity for PS3 but to concentrate on profitability," Oneda told SmartMoney.com. "Our plan is not to reduce the price."

Xbox 360 has already seen a price cut of $50 for its Pro model.

Sony: No Plans For Playstation 3 Price Cut

So lets get this straight...MS lowered its price on the best selling system, well the most liked system. And Sony says they won't. Even though they have no way NEAR as many good games as 360, even though the system is MUCH more then 360 and even though the system FORCES you to buy a Blu-Ray player.So...uh... why again would people want the PS3 lol. Its already proven that 360 seems to have better looking games (look at tests done). The line up for 360 blow PSS3 away. I mean theres really nothing about PS3 anyone wants.Heck were now past the half way point of the 5 year console cycle. Sony is just being stupid now NOT to make a price cut.Well I guess theres always next gen! There next system will probably be like $1,000+ lol. No wonder why it fails.
