Sony Posts A Billion Dollar Loss Sony Posts A Billion Dollar Loss

In its annual financial report for the year ending March 31st, 2009, Sony Corporation declared that it has lost over 1 billion dollars.

During those 12 months, Sony sold 10.1 million Playstation 3 units, a 10% increase over the previous year's 9.12 million units. PSP sales saw a 2% year-over-year increase to 14.11 million units while the Playstation 2 sales declined by 42% to 7.91 million.

For the new fiscal year ahead, Sony expects to sell 13 million PS3s, 15 million PSPs and just 5 million PS2s.
