Sony Reset Some PSN Account Passwords As A "Precautionary Measure"

Sony has reset some PlayStation Network users' passwords without informing them, leading them to believe that they have been hacked.

Users from all over America, Europe and Japan reported that they were not able to login to PSN and were confronted by a message telling them that the password they entered was incorrect. The reason was a mystery until Sony's official PlayStation support account on Twitter tweeted that:

Sony maintains a position that this move was a "purely a precautionary measure" for "routine protection." The company didn't give any reason for the timing, nor did it explain why the reset was limited to specific accounts.
