United Front Games, the developer behind games like Sleeping Dog and recent Early Access release, Smash+Grab, has been closed for good. There wasn't much warning for this news, with only a rumour of the closure appearing online in the past couple of days. Now though it's been confirmed by staff and it seems that the long time studio is done.
Currently mourning the best job I've ever had, and the most wonderful team I've ever worked with.

If this was planned for a while now, nobody at United seemed to know about it. Developer staff are saddened and shocked at the news, while official social media accounts for the games and developer itself were posting regularly until a couple of days ago.
It's not clear exactly why the shutdown is happening, but considering Smash + Grab was an early access title, it's possible it just wasn't bringing in enough money to keep the company afloat.
