Vampire Cuts Bloodlines With H-L 2

The bloodletting is set to begin as both major games featuring Valve's Source engine are about to go head-to-head on November 16, 2004. Activision has chosen that date to launch Vampire : The Masquerade - Bloodlines for the PC, a date, strangely enough already in use by Valve for the Half-Life 2 launch.

Troika are really claiming the game as a revolution in FPS gameplay since there is a very strong RPG element. Since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has been delayed again it is clear that Vampire will get the chance to pitch its flag on that particular innovation although Deus-Ex and System Shock may complain even though their RPG element was extremely limited compared to Troika's promising title. You can have a look at some new in-game images by following the Screens tab above.

An all-new RPG adventure, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is filled with rich character development, an intriguing storyline set in White Wolf's World of Darkness, and mind-blowing graphics powered by Source - Valve's next generation engine technology. It will take a vicious array of vampire disciplines and a healthy penchant for blood, for players to survive the dark and gritty undying world of modern day L.A. Selecting from one of seven clans, gamers will interact with other characters, decide with whom to ally themselves, and watch as darkness takes over their soul while a mysterious plot unfolds.

This is going to be great! Troika has done nothing but awesome things, and the World of Darkness, especially Vampire is easily one of the best pen&paper roleplaying games ever. I still play Redemption, despite its flaws and I expect to be just as entertained by Bloodlines. I am slightly disappointed with the lack of multiplayer, but it's a very small loss. The release of this game is the ONLY reason I was ever worried about Half-Life 2’s release :P

I've played Redemption SP literally about 20 times. I look forward to Bloodlines because it looks like another deep story and this time there are more than three possible endings and the story isn't nearly as linear.HL-2 is being released on the same day but I don't really see them as competition. They are both FPS but they have a different following generally speaking. One thing we can all agree on, next Tuesday will be one busy day... Luckily, I bought the Steam Silver package and doing next day shipping for Bloodlines. Ironically, Bloodlines also describes the line that will be outside the stores waiting for the doors to open:P

HL2 is overrated. HL1 is a shitty game and I also expect HL2 to be a shitty game.I think I know why so many PC gamers are saying HL2 is going to be the best game ever is because Gordon Freeman is a huge nerd and well, there is no other game that has a main character that is a nerd so nerds look up to freeman because they can relate to his homosexual tendencies since nerds will never get laid in their lifetime.Half-Life = Homo LifeGordon Freeman = Gay F**ker or Gordon FagmanGabe Newell = Gay Newblet or Gay nerdI'm sorry but you can easily tell that HL is a game for gay nerds and well, nerds are the only ones who like HL and HL2 and nerds dominate the PC gaming community so it makes perfect sense that HL2 is getting the most coverage and highest scores and what not since HL's leading character is a GAY NERD.It doesn't take a genius to look at the facts that HL is infact a gay game made for gay nerds.

Dang, i really wish i knew that Vampire was coming out soon. HL2 will really blow this out of the water, sales-wise, as many like me preordered HL2 the second CS:S was available. With the massive review that PCGamer has given HL2 i dont think ill be disappointed with what ive got, but im still looking for some way to scrounge up 50 more bucks for the 16th.

I think this will be better then HL2 for many reasons1: Innovative story2: Fresh Ideas (how many games you know allow you to be a vampire in control of your stats and physical appeareance)3: HL2 is based off of old designs4: If you think the main character in this is gay... use another chances are he/she is notas for "Anonymousat 16:46 12/11/2004" you ARE a nerd (with a girlfriend, and also proof that nerds CAN get laid)... why do you think you spent so much time writing on a game forum, think about it :D Also being a nerd isn't such a bad thing... nowdays most "preps" are nerds themselves

And to Dev/Null...You rock dude!!! I just beat Redemption again for like the sixth time. That game does still kick some ass!!! With it's three endings and how much you can change Christof it doesn't really matter.Right now in Bloodlines I am like stuck on the Museum, I totally picked a Brujah tough guy type, and now I have to get through this Museum without killing any Police and I have like no stealth-type skills. This sucks!!! Anyways, wish me luck and I will keep trying...
