In "Get a Life" you embody Alexander Zemlinsky, a subway technician suffering from leukaemia. Alex is not, unlike the protagonists in most games, an invincible super-soldier. But you wouldn't call him normal either, because there is something in his past that connects him with the events that are about to happen in the course of the story (the creator wants to keep the suspense, so nothing more on that...). "Get a Life" will feature different environment settings presented in more than 24 maps, all of them connected to the scenario of the mod. GaL will offer about 10 hours of pure gameplay pleasure. FEATURES GaL is a total conversion, we will introduce new maps, weapons, enemies, npc's, sound effects, music tracks, props and textures GaL will run on the latest version of the Source Engine, so that means you'll see HDR and the enhanced shadow system (as seen in HL2: Episode 1) in "Get a Life" as well To give the player the best gaming experience...

Half-Life 2 - Get a Life v1.0 Mod

Mod attempts to follow the Half Life formula, but does it in a very sloppy manner. Character designs are lacking, weapons are mostly for show, or having extra ammo to shoot at the swarms of monsters the "not a super-soldier" hero has to slaughter. Maps designs are still rough, voices are ridiculously soft, and the dialogs has a lot of grammatical errors. The only thing I found interesting and rather unique was the bandage system and how the grenades exploded, however the nades are still a bit overpowered.

Half-Life 2 - Get a Life v1.0 Mod

Still Anon from 12:52Still, the mod does what it says, and it does make a decent effort with it. The creators could've reviewed a few choices, such as sound quality and volume (such as the loud music blaring when there's dialog or the insanely loud sound effects of the guns relative to the rest of the game) and weapon choices and weapon utility. Regardless, the mod is still playable, however some random crashes and checksum overloads plague the mod after playing any extended time longer than 15 minutes. If I were to score this on a 0-10 system, I'd give it a 6.
