Celeron's are here to Stay

Intel introduced two new Celerons to their range, in a move which, surprisingly, establishes the company as a decent option for economy systems. This new push to the Celeron brand raises some questions about Intel's plans for the future of the processor, especially when the next generation Prescott is released.

The new Celeron's will run at 2.60 and 2.50 GHz. The new Celeron's will be based on Intel's 0.13-micron process technology and will utilize 478-pin packaging and feature a 400 MHz system bus.

In 1,000-unit quantities, the Intel Celeron processor at 2.60 GHz is priced at USD 103; the 2.50 GHz is priced at USD 89.
