EA has released the highly anticipated demo for BattleField 2142. The filesize of 1.1 GB makes this a daunting download but the reputation of the franchise is worth the effort.
The year is 2142, and the dawn of a new Ice age has thrown the world into a panic. The math is simple and brutal: The soil not covered by ice can only feed a fraction of the Earth's population. Some will live, most will die. In Battlefield 2142, players will choose to fight for one of two military superpowers in an epic battle for survival, the European Union or the newly formed Pan Asian Coalition. Armed with a devastating arsenal of hi-tech assault rifles, cloaking devices and sentry guns, players will also do battle using some of the most imposing vehicles known to man. Massive battle Mechs wage fierce combat on the ground, while futuristic aircraft rule the skies. When facing one of these new behemoths, players will need to use their wits and an arsenal of new countermeasures like EMP grenades to level the playing field.

IV. NOTES ON COMPATIBILITY

Battlefield 2142 demo is designed to run on Windows XP compatible graphics and sound cards. Drivers for these devices are provided by the respective card manufacturer and may result in compatibility issues beyond our control.
If you are experiencing any issues, it is always recommended that you obtain and install the latest drivers for your hardware. The majority of hardware vendors have the latest drivers available for download via their websites.

V. KNOWN ISSUES AND TROUBLESHOOTING
====================================
CHANGING DISPLAY MODE
Occasionally on some video cards you may be allowed to set the display mode to one not supported by your computer. This will result in a black screen being shown. To remedy this use the Windows
Explorer to find and delete the directory:
\My Documents\Battlefield 2142 demo\Profiles\
This will reset your game to the default settings. You can now start the game, retrieve or create a new profile, and re-adjust the settings using the Menu as normal.
Players with SoundMAX HD Audio integrated chipsets may experience crackling and popping audio during game play, if you are experiencing this please ensure you have the latest hardware drivers installed (see IV. NOTES ON COMPATIBILITY)
Players who have the Windows security update KB917422 installed may suffer from an application error when running the Battlefield 2142 demo. This error can be solved by uninstalling the KB917422 update.
Task switching is not fully supported while running Battlefield 2142 demo. If you use functions such as Alt-Tab and other variations then you may experience problems.

Ce processeur offre de nombreuses options d'effets et d'enceintes et un enrichissement par acclration matrielle de l'environnement sonore aux possesseurs de cartes son compatibles Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi. Le processeur audio X-Fi permet d'obtenir la meilleure qualit sonore possible.
REMARQUE - Ce processeur n'est disponible que sur les cartes son X-Fi prenant en charge le mode jeu. Le X-Fi doit tre rgl sur "mode jeu". IV. REMARQUES SUR LA COMPATIBILITE

La dmo de Battlefield 2142 a t conue pour fonctionner avec des cartes vido et des cartes son compatibles avec Windows XP. Les pilotes de ces lments sont fournis par le fabricant de ces cartes. Nous ne saurions tre tenus pour responsables d'ventuels problmes de compatibilit.
En cas de problme, il est recommand de possder en permanence les derniers pilotes matriels relatifs votre systme. La majorit des fabricants de matriels proposent gnralement de tlcharger les derniers pilotes en date depuis leur site internet.
La plupart des problmes peuvent tre rsolus grce une mise jour rgulire ou permanente des pilotes de votre systme.
Avertissement : ce jeu contient une technologie destine empcher la copie pouvant entrer en conflit avec certains lecteurs de DVD-ROM, DVD-RW et lecteurs virtuels.

V. PROBLEMES CONNUS ET RESOLUTION DES PROBLEMES

CHANGEMENT DU MODE D'AFFICHAGE
Certaines cartes vido permettent de rgler le mode d'affichage au-del de la rsolution prise en charge par votre ordinateur. En pareil cas, un cran noir s'affichera. Pour remdier ce problme, effacez le rpertoire suivant l'aide de l'explorateur de Windows :
\Mes Documents\Battlefield 2142 demo\Profiles\
Les paramtres par dfaut de votre jeu seront alors rtablis. Vous pourrez alors lancer le jeu, rcuprer un profil ou en crer un nouveau, et modifier nouveau vos paramtres par l'intermdiaire du menu habituel.
Il est possible que les possesseurs de chipsets intgrs SoundMAX HD Audio entendent des bruits secs ou des craquements en cours de jeu. Si vous rencontrez ce problme, vrifiez que les derniers pilotes en date sont bien installs (voir IV. REMARQUES SUR LA COMPATIBILITE).
Il est possible que l'installation de la mise jour KB917422 relative la scurit de Windows provoque une erreur d'application lors de l'excution de la dmo de Battlefield 2142. Ce problme peut tre rsolu en dsinstallant la mise jour KB917422.
La prise en charge du basculement d'une tche vers l'autre n'est pas compltement assure pendant le fonctionnement de la dmo de Battlefield 2142. Des combinaisons de touches telles que Alt+Tab (ou autres) peuvent poser problme.

Attention, si la configuration vido matrielle de votre systme ne reprend pas les lments de la liste ci-dessus, votre exprience de jeu peut souffrir de pertes de performances et de problmes d'affichage. Il est en outre possible que le jeu ne se lance pas du tout.
PROCESSEUR AUDIO X-Fi
Ce processeur offre de nombreuses options d'effets et d'enceintes et un enrichissement par acclration matrielle de l'environnement sonore aux possesseurs de cartes son compatibles Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi. Le processeur audio X-Fi permet d'obtenir la meilleure qualit sonore possible.
REMARQUE - Ce processeur n'est disponible que sur les cartes son X-Fi prenant en charge le mode jeu. Le X-Fi doit tre rgl sur "mode jeu". Un guide d'installation de votre carte son, et des informations sur le matriel compatible sont disponibles l'adresse http://www.soundblaster.com (site en anglais).

IV. REMARQUES SUR LA COMPATIBILITE

La dmo de Battlefield 2142 a t conue pour fonctionner avec des cartes vido et des cartes son compatibles avec Windows XP. Les pilotes de ces lments sont fournis par le fabricant de ces cartes. Nous ne saurions tre tenus pour responsables d'ventuels problmes de compatibilit.
En cas de problme, il est recommand de possder en permanence les derniers pilotes matriels relatifs votre systme. La majorit des fabricants de matriels proposent gnralement de tlcharger les derniers pilotes en date depuis leur site internet.
La plupart des problmes peuvent tre rsolus grce une mise jour rgulire ou permanente des pilotes de votre systme.
Avertissement : ce jeu contient une technologie destine empcher la copie pouvant entrer en conflit avec certains lecteurs de DVD-ROM, DVD-RW et lecteurs virtuels.

V. PROBLEMES CONNUS ET RESOLUTION DES PROBLEMES

CHANGEMENT DU MODE D'AFFICHAGE
Certaines cartes vido permettent de rgler le mode d'affichage au-del de la rsolution prise en charge par votre ordinateur. En pareil cas, un cran noir s'affichera. Pour remdier ce problme, effacez le rpertoire suivant l'aide de l'explorateur de Windows :
\Mes Documents\Battlefield 2142 demo\Profiles\
Les paramtres par dfaut de votre jeu seront alors rtablis. Vous pourrez alors lancer le jeu, rcuprer un profil ou en crer un nouveau, et modifier nouveau vos paramtres par l'intermdiaire du menu habituel.
Il est possible que les possesseurs de chipsets intgrs SoundMAX HD Audio entendent des bruits secs ou des craquements en cours de jeu. Si vous rencontrez ce problme, vrifiez que les derniers pilotes en date sont bien installs (voir IV. REMARQUES SUR LA COMPATIBILITE).
Il est possible que l'installation de la mise jour KB917422 relative la scurit de Windows provoque une erreur d'application lors de l'excution de la dmo de Battlefield 2142. Ce problme peut tre rsolu en dsinstallant la mise jour KB917422.
La prise en charge du basculement d'une tche vers l'autre n'est pas compltement assure pendant le fonctionnement de la dmo de Battlefield 2142. Des combinaisons de touches telles que Alt+Tab (ou autres) peuvent poser problme.

IV. KOMPATIBILITT

Die Battlefield 2142-Demo wurde fr Windows XP-kompatible Grafik- und Soundkarten entwickelt. Treiber fr diese Gerte erhltst du von den jeweiligen Hardware-Herstellern, die allerdings Probleme verursachen knnen, die sich unserer Kontrolle entziehen.
Solltest du Probleme dieser Art haben, ist es immer empfehlenswert, die aktuellsten Treiber fr deine Hardware zu installieren, die du grtenteils auf der Homepage des jeweiligen Hardware-Herstellers als Download findest.

V. BEKANNTE PROBLEME UND FEHLERBEHEBUNG

ANZEIGEMODUS NDERN
Einige Grafikkarten erlauben es dir, den Anzeigemodus zu einem Modus zu ndern, der nicht von deinem Computer untersttzt wird, was in einem schwarzen Bildschirm resultieren wird. Um dies rckgngig zu machen, suche und lsche im Windows Explorer das folgende Verzeichnis:
\Eigene Dateien\Battlefield 2142 Demo\Profile\
Hierdurch wird das Spiel auf die Standardeinstellungen zurckgesetzt. Du kannst das Spiel jetzt starten, ein neues Profil anlegen oder ein altes wiederherstellen und die Einstellungen ber das Men neu anpassen.
Bei Spielern mit SoundMAX HD Audio integrierten Chipstzen kann whrend des Spiels Knacken und Rauschen auftreten. Sollte dies der Fall sein, vergewissere dich bitte, dass bei dir die aktuellsten Hardware-Treiber installiert sind (vergl. IV. KOMPATIBILITT).
Es kann vorkommen, dass bei Systemen, auf denen das Windows-Sicherheitsupdate KB917422 installiert ist, ein Applikationsfehler beim Ausfhren der Battlefield 2142-Demo auftritt. Dieses Problem kann behoben werden, indem du das Update KB917422 deinstallierst.
Whrend der Ausfhrung der Battlefield 2142-Demo werden Taskwechsel nur bedingt untersttzt. Wenn du Funktionen wie ALT+TAB und andere Variationen benutzt, kann es zu Problemen kommen.
