OpenGL support ***************** Tsunami 2265 does support OpenGL, and it can be used instead of the standard DirectX support. However, note that we suggest to use OpenGL support only if the game cannot start on the computer due to compatibility problems. 7. Graphic cards compatibility ****************************** Tsunami 2265 has been tested with a wide number of graphic cards and drivers available in the market. Below is a list of compatible chipsets: NVIDIA TNT NVIDIA TNT2 NVIDIA GeForce NVIDIA GeForce 2 Matrox G200 Matrox G400 ATI Rage Pro ATI Rage 128 ATI Rage MAXX ATI Radeon 3DFX Voodoo 2 3DFX Voodoo Banshee 3DFX Voodoo 3 3DFX Voodoo 5 Theoretically, any graphic card with a DirectX 7 compatible driver should work with Tsunami 2265. If your chipset is one of the above-listed and the game still does not run, it probably will be a driver problem. In such case we advise to download the latest driver for the chipset from the graphic card constructor web site. Older graphic cards (like the NVIDIA Riva 128) for which a DirectX 7 driver is not jet available are not supported by Tsunami 2265. 7.0 Partially compatible or non compatible graphic cards ------------------------------------------------------------ The following graphic cards have proved to have some problems running Tsunami 2265. In general it is advisable to look up the Protonic web site (www.protonic.net) since in the future there could be some patches available (free games updates) in order to solve some of the known problems. 7.1 NVIDIA Riva 128 ------------------- This graphic cards is not supported correctly since there is no DirectX 7 driver available. The menus are not correctly displayed and some graphical anomalies are present. NVIDIA is working on a new driver for this graphic card, but the release date is not yet known. For further information, have a look at the www.nvidia.com web site. 7.2 S3 Savage 2000 ------------------ This graphic cards seems to have some drivers not properly working. The game does not run and cause the machine to crash. The problem could be solved with the next driver upgrade (that will be available on www.s3.com) or with a Tsunami 2265 patch, specifically designed to solve the driver problems. 7.3 Voodoo (complete series) --------------------------- The MPEG movies (intro and end sequences) do not exploit the graphic card properly, which makes the streaems to jump on some computers. On top of that, in some game levels, the sky deform incorrectly. All problems will be fixed with a new Tsunami 2265 patch. 8. 3D sound compatibility ************************* Tsunami 2265 exploits the DirectX technology to generate the 3D sound effect. From the audio menu, it is possible to change the 3D sound setting. The Normal mode (which is the default setting) it is available on every DirectX 7-compatible sound card, while the Medium and Enhanced mode, which offer a higher quality of sound, are available only on sound cards with updated drivers (WDM format) and with a Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows 2000 operating systems. If you are not sure about the requirements for the Medium and Enhanced mode do not change the selected mode (Normal). 9. Other ******** For further information, look up the game instruction manual or the www.protonic.net web site.
