Barry Steakfries is a down-trodden salesman for Gramco, a company selling gramophones whose sales have been falling down continuously since 1911. As a sad Barry walks in search of an interested customer, he comes to the door of Legitimate Research, Inc., and is about to ring the bell when he notices through a window some scientists cornered around a jetpack. Barry immediately falls in love and decides to steal the jetpack. He blasts his way through the window, grabs the jetpack and escapes with it, and the scientists attempt to stop him using various inventions.
