The '00s Ghostbusters game is getting a remastered version

The Ghostbusters game from the late 2000s that saw the original characters voiced by their original actors, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson, is getting a remaster — at least according to a surprise listing by the Taiwanese Ratings Board (via Kotaku).

The Ghostbusters: The Video Game title was a passable third-person-shooter-like experience that drew on classic Ghostbusters' characters and actors, as well as a number of story concepts that were pitched for Ghostbuster sequel movies that never got off the ground after the lacklustre second-film. It released on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, and did rather well for itself, riding that nostalgia wave which was only building its momentum throughout that decade.

A remaster isn't something that many people were clamouring for, but it looks like we'll be getting it anyway. It's listed on the ratings board as coming to Xbox One, but we'd be surprised if it didn't make an appearance on the PS4 and PC too. The developer is listed as Mad Dog Games, which previously released World of Speed, NBA Playgrounds and Shaq Fu. Let that fill you with confidence or dread as it will, but it's the only company attached to the property at this time.

There is a promotional website for the game that you could check out, but there's nothing there as of yet. We'd assume that this will come in the future when the game is officially announced. As it stands, it's all off the books and hush hush. Watch this space for more news as we get it.
