Microsoft officially announces Xbox One media remote

We saw it for the first time earlier this month in an unofficial leak, but now Microsoft has unveiled it for real, the Xbox One media remote is coming. It's sleek, black, has motion activated backlighting, so it can be used in the dark and can even control more than just Xbox One media functions by using the Kinect.

A media control, while seemingly a little unnecessary because of the controller, isn't something unusual for an Xbox. Microsoft made one for the original Xbox and the Xbox 360, so it was bound to do the same for the one.

The pricing isn't even that bad, considering you'd think the motion tracking backlighting might have been a bit pricey to implement. $25 is the expected retail price when it hits shelves soon.

If you have the Kinect working - and don't have tape over its ever-watching eye - you can also control your TV, set top boxes and other parts of your living room entertainment via the camera, though Microsoft wasn't explicit on how exactly that would work.

I don't think there's too many Megagames Xbox One owners, but those of you that are, what do you think of this? Is it something you'd be interested in?
