Nintendo Will Make Its E3 Presence Outside Of E3 Walls

Last year Nintendo decided to forgo traditional E3 press conferences in favor of a Nintendo Direct stream. This year, the company is building on that approach.

Under the banner of "Play Nintendo," Nintendo will four unique experiences during E3 2014 next June; the most important of which is the "Nintendo Digital Event" where the company will "reveal and provide further detail about the gaming experiences on the way for Nintendo platforms in 2014 and beyond". The Nintendo Digital Event will air at 9 a.m. PT on Tuesday, June 10.

Parallel to the Digital Event, Nintendo will host "Nintendo Treehouse" where it will live-stream unscripted demos of its upcoming games being played by fans at its E3 booth.

Additionally, is inviting 16 highly skilled Super Smash Bros. players to the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles to compete in a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament. Fans are welcome to view the tournament in person or through webcast.

Finally, Nintendo has decided to allow fans to try out its E3 demos outside of the walls of the Los Angeles Convention Center by making them available at select Best Buy stores. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. has been confirmed to be part of that event.
