This is still highly unconfirmed, but some websites have published the following list, claiming that it is the final hardware specs of Nintendo's upcoming Wii successor which is still being developed under the codename "Project Café."
The specs are well above those of the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, but they are not high enough to guarantee it'll compete with Microsoft's and Sony's next generation of consoles in terms of raw power.

nothing new
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onya know...250 to 350 gb drive(garbage) comps have 2 tbs now...high def picture..well, the specs show they can handle it..but the memory and other items displayed mean almost nothing due to the fact nothing out there will use the spec..even now..ps3 and xbox 360 havent been pushed to the limits, and doesnt seam like were are going to see anything revolutionary soon, except physical movement games and fads that make money at one time and then fade from memory..where is the imagination and creativity lost from the early days????? these spec will only drive hacks and mod to the machines to bored customers...better built machines dont make better games. just my rant....

Nintendo have been a joke in
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onNintendo have been a joke in the last couple of years, I got a wii, completed Zelda and RE4 haven't touched it since. And ill be damned if this is any better, it will most likely be focused at family gaming im, I will never forget the day I decided to get a ps3.
No Super Mario Galaxy?
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onSuper Mario Galaxy is one of the greatest games on the console.
Dont hate on Nintendo
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onNintendo's sells have been far greater then there competition, and I'm pretty sure that Microsoft and Sony don't see Nintendo as a 'joke', after all, both Sony's and Microsoft's motion control technology was inspired by Nintendo.
listen
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) oni just want to make it perfectly clear to everyone the graphics card on this will kill 360 and ps3 4 times the texture ram + it will handle native 1080p on every game that they release that comparable to xobx and ps3 plus it do it at 60fps some will probly argue with me i say if these are the real specs then the future will proove me correct
No blu-ray
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onThe new system does not have blu-ray. It has been confirmed by Reggie in an interview on Gametraiilers.

Well this spec sheet doesn't
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onWell this spec sheet doesn't say "Blu-ray" it says "custom blu-ray" which means it could still handle as large discs as 50gb but not just blu-ray.
"Custom bluray" is misleading
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onNowhere at the E3 conference did they mention bluray for there next console. The discs may have a much larger space then DVD's, but if it isnt bluray, then dont call it "custom bluray". That is like calling my custom PC "custom Alienware".
Maybe not
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onI belive custom blu-ray means just that. A blu-ray drive that reads blu-ray disks that use a file system different from the usual, a custom file system requires a drive with a customized firmware, hence custom blu-ray. That'd be very much the same way the wii uses dvd disks, they have a custom file system so a pc can't read wii disks, of course by understanding the file system its possible to create a 'translator' and it was done years ago.
So It won't play Blu-ray movies!
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onI think is the point of these comments. Yes games can be huge but the concern was it is an HD system that won't support the most popular movie distribution technology.
Then hack it and install a
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onThen hack it and install a Bluray player just like everyone did to get their Wii to play DVDs
too slow
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onsounds slower them my PC
Do not compare a PC that
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onDo not compare a PC that always has a OS and over 70 background services running at all time, with a console that runs nothing but a dedicated game.
16Gb of ram and a quad core
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on16Gb of ram and a quad core with 8 threads says **** you to 70 background services quite nicely.... the os is NOT a limiting factor drivers are. if you knew anything you'd know when making a game for consoles the game can 'talk' right to the hardware instead of having to talk to a piece of software that then talks to the hardware.
riiiiiight
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on"when making a game for consoles the game can 'talk' right to the hardware" - Ohh the lack of knowledge. No the game doesn't 'talk' to the hardware, there is ALWAYS at least a few layers of abstraction between games and hardware otherwise game devs would go nuts trying to make games that aren't exclusive to one console. In other words, there is always an API for devs to use, they don't code directly with hardware instructions. Heck, your PC's OS doesn't talk directly with the hardware either, imagine having to customize your OS to 'talk' with all the popular PC parts out there. Drivers do the talking and they're good at it, you missed big time. *hint* the problem is a couple of abstraction layers above them *hint*
Developers
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onSay that you need 2 times the computing power of a console to get the same results on a PC version. The fact that you can tune to a specific piece of hardware helps that much. If your PC is 2 times the spec of the WiiU then, yes your PC game will look as good. The Wii has 4 very fast cores and a fast graphics processor with plenty of graphics memory to do 1080p. More memory will not make things faster but would allow more texture space.
well this looks to be a
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onwell this looks to be a really good console expect theres one glaring problem... 512MB ram.. thats been outdated since like 2002
RAM amount is not everything,
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onRAM amount is not everything, especially if you don't have to run an entire OS in the background, the important part is that it's fast.
Btw, the PS3 has 256mb ram. ;)

Hardware and Price.

I still bought one, screw the naysayers, best effin decision i made, worth every penny.
erm
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onyou sound like a little kid who blew his allowance on it
You sound like you couldn't
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onYou sound like you couldn't afford one, and possibly still cant afford one.
All it takes is a job.
I wish I got that much as a kid.
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onThat's some allowance if he did.
Exciting...
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on360 has the games and in the end microsoft and even Sony dont need to rush. This cow,d hurt nintendo if it's a flop of a console...remember Sega? Same game...had not as many games (great games though) then there sales were down and so they got out of the console market. Sad really...loved sega games so ahead of the ps2 then.
Nintendo have a chance to make a major difference but I fear (unless it's a unique console) there is no room for it ithe market, the 3ds sales are very slow...now if this new console has a portable device built into the controller (idea stolen from dremacast) then it puts the 3ds a major risk of fail.
