World of Tanks tanks go HD

World of Tanks tanks go HD

If you're a fan of World of Tanks, you're likely to coo at the new visuals in the game with the latest update 9.0, as ten of the tanks have now been reskinned with HD textures and models, making them prettier than ever. Don't worry if your favourite isn't among them though, as there's plans to give the same treatment to the others soon enough.

They look great too, as you can see in the above trailer, with lovely new detailing that is the first step in what the developers have planned as a massive overhaul of the game.

Wargaming has also updated the physics of the game, with suspension tweaks lending to more realistic handling. You can see some of it in action above, with one intrepid tank commander using the corpse of another as mobile cover while he advances across a bridge. Similarly, mid-air tank battles are possible now.

Turrets can also detach from the main bodies of tanks, leaving them defenceless or at least adding another piece of spinning debris to the battlefield.

For the history buffs, update 9.0 also adds historical battles to the theatre, letting you relive some of the most important tank assaults the world has ever seen. Fight through The Battle of Kursk, Operation Spring Awakening and The Battle of The Bulge, all within the hull of your customised tank.

You can out more about this update now from the official site.
