You Are Empty is a linear first-person shooter set in 1950s Soviet Kyiv. First, players wake into a city emptied of people and filled with strange monsters. Then they push through collective farms, the Metro, an opera house, rooftops, and secret labs. Enemies draw on propaganda, science, and madness, so each location feels grotesque and surreal. Meanwhile, the story slowly reveals what caused the catastrophe.

The Absolute Edition revives the cult shooter for modern systems. Notably, it supports widescreen and all common resolutions, and the HUD scales to match. Controller support and achievements are also new additions. Therefore, the old campaign now plays smoothly on current hardware.
