Auto-Equip:

Pressing Square in the ‘Weapons’ or ‘Equipment’ tab of each character’s equipment information screen will auto-equip the strongest equipment available. This option is useful for the basic battles but anything other than those you really need to take the time to hand-pick the correct equipment for each character to ensure you have the best possible chance.
