Ubisoft trató de ocultar las deficiencias de AC: Unity con un embargo de críticas el día del lanzamiento

Ubisoft tried to extend the reviews embargo on Assassin’s Creed: Unity until the end of launch day, probably to cover up the fact that the game was pretty half-assed.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity currently has a mediocre MetaCritic score of 73% with a large divide between reviews who gave the game scores ranging from 40% to 91%. Basically, the reviewers loved the game’s aesthetics and new animation system but dreaded the multitude of bugs, frame rate stuttering and crashes.

“Unity feels like it was taken out of the oven too soon,” said Arthur Gies in his revise.

Thanks to the terms and conditions attached to the review copy of the game, most review sites were unable to publish their reviews for several hours after the game hit the market. For one, Kotaku’s editor-in-chief Stephen Totilo acknowledged the oversight, affirming that he has informed Ubisoft and other companies that they will never “accept a post-release embargo tied to a review copy again.”
