Paris burns in 1499, but Rose Belmont walks into the flames with the Vampire Killer whip. Evil Empire, the studio behind Dead Cells, built this 2D action-exploration game with Konami and advice from Motion Twin.

After each boss falls, it joins Rose’s tarot deck as an Arcana with a spell or special action. Weapons from seven categories and defensive Relics reward careful loadouts, but one mistake still costs ground.
