Global Rescue

Global Rescue

PeDePe GbR developed and Aerosoft GmbH published Global Rescue. It entered Steam Early Access on April 27, 2026 on PC via Steam for Windows, macOS, and Linux. PeDePe GbR is the German indie studio behind City Bus Manager. Aerosoft is the Paderborn-based publisher known primarily for flight and simulation titles. Global Rescue marks the strongest Steam launch in Aerosoft’s history, reaching over 4,000 concurrent players on release day. PeDePe and Aerosoft expect the Early Access period to last approximately 1 to 2 years before full release.

About the Game

Global Rescue is a hybrid base builder and real-time strategy management sim. You take command of your own emergency response headquarters and coordinate firefighting, police, EMS, and SWAT operations across a vibrant 3D world. The standout hook is real-world map data: you can place your base and operate anywhere on Earth, from your own hometown to any city around the world. You start with a patch of land and a small team. From there, you build out every department, hire staff, research upgrades, and respond to an escalating variety of authentic emergency scenarios.

The Gameplay Loop

The core loop alternates between periods of administration and waves of simultaneous emergencies. During the quiet periods, you organise staff, recruit new officers, buy vehicles, run the gas station and car wash, and advance your research tree. Then the wave hits. The entire area seemingly decides to have a flurry of incidents at once. You direct each unit, instruct police to interview witnesses, ensure fire crews aim the hose at the correct target, and manage triage for EMS responses. XP and money from completing assignments on time fund further base expansion and vehicle upgrades.

Real-World Maps and the Mission Editor

Global Rescue uses real geographic data to generate the world around your base. You are not playing in a fictional city. You are playing in an actual place, which makes the setting feel genuinely personal and gives the game near-infinite replayability through location variety alone. Furthermore, the integrated mission editor lets you create your own operations and share them via Steam Workshop. The game launched with full Steam Workshop support, covering custom vehicles, skins, and missions from day one of Early Access.

Wesentliche Merkmale

Operations and Personnel

  • Four Emergency Services: Fire Department, Police, EMS, and SWAT: Each service has its own vehicles, personnel types, and mission categories. Fire crews extinguish structural fires and respond to traffic accidents. Police handle traffic checks, speed checks, alcohol checks, and witness interviews. EMS manages medical emergencies and triage. SWAT handles high-risk tactical operations. Furthermore, each service has a distinct management layer covering staff morale, hunger, hygiene, and energy levels that affect field performance. As a result, keeping all four departments staffed, trained, and operational simultaneously is the central long-term management challenge.
  • Personnel Management with Staff Needs and Training: Your employees are not passive statistics. They get hungry, tired, and need facilities to maintain their performance. The research tree unlocks staff training programmes that improve individual unit effectiveness in the field. Furthermore, the Plitch trainer highlights the depth of the staff system: premium cheats specifically cover employee hunger, hygiene need, and energy alongside experience and research points. Consequently, players who ignore their personnel’s needs will find their response times and success rates deteriorating over time.

Base Building and Vehicles

  • Build and Customise Your Base with a Grid-Based Construction System: The base building layer uses a grid system similar to the Two Point games, with walls, doors, furniture, garages, and service facilities all placed freely on your land plot. Every department needs its own dedicated space, and the layout of your base affects how quickly units can respond to a call. Furthermore, the gas station and car wash are functional vehicle management features rather than decorative additions, requiring active upkeep to keep your fleet in field-ready condition. As a result, base design is a genuine strategic decision rather than a cosmetic one.
  • 23 Vehicles with Custom Skins and Steam Workshop Support: The Early Access version ships with 23 different vehicles covering all four emergency services. Each vehicle can receive custom skins. Steam Workshop support is live from launch, meaning the community can already share vehicle mods, custom skins, and user-created missions. Furthermore, the Early Access version already includes over 200 missions and additional side objectives. Consequently, the content volume at launch exceeds what most Early Access management sims offer at a comparable stage of development.

World and Progression

  • Play Anywhere in the World Using Real Map Data: The real-world map system is Global Rescue’s most distinctive feature. Real street layouts, building density, and geography shape how emergencies play out and how quickly your units can reach them. A response in a dense urban grid plays differently from one in a sprawling suburban area. Furthermore, the ability to set your base in your own hometown gives the game an immediate personal connection that fictional city simulators cannot replicate. As a result, no two players are necessarily operating in the same world, which gives the game an inherent social dimension around location-sharing.
  • Extensive Research Tree and Base Expansion: Progression in Global Rescue runs through an extensive research tree that unlocks new vehicles, staff capabilities, base modules, and operational tools. Research points are earned by completing missions efficiently and expand the breadth of what your emergency services headquarters can handle. Furthermore, the full version planned for 1.0 is described by the developers as a significant expansion of features, content, and depth beyond the already solid Early Access foundation. Consequently, the research tree provides a long-term direction for every session rather than a simple money-and-unlock loop.

Emergency 20 Also an emergency services management and strategy game covering firefighting, police, and rescue operations. However, it uses pre-built fictional city maps rather than real-world geographic data. Furthermore, it is a fully released game with a longer franchise history and a larger mission count at launch. It has a more traditional RTS structure with less emphasis on the base building and personnel management layers that define Global Rescue. Players who want a fully released and more RTS-focused emergency services game with a longer mission campaign and franchise pedigree rather than an Early Access base builder.
Two Point Hospital / Two Point Campus Shares the grid-based building system, staff management with personal needs, and wave-based event structure that Global Rescue uses. However, it covers hospital and educational institution management rather than emergency services. Furthermore, it uses a polished fictional world with humour and character rather than real-world map data and authentic mission scenarios. Players who want the most polished and content-rich grid-based management sim with deep staff systems, a complete campaign, and a large back catalogue of DLC content.
911 Operator Also uses real-world city maps as its playing field and tasks you with coordinating police, fire, and medical units to respond to emergency calls. However, it is a top-down dispatcher game focused purely on call management rather than a base builder with personnel systems and vehicle management. Furthermore, it is a fully released game at a lower price point with no base construction layer. Players who want a real-world map emergency coordination game focused purely on dispatch decisions without the base building and staff management systems of Global Rescue.
