Fields of Mistria Leaves Early Access With Marriage, Children, and Full 1.0 Release

Fields of Mistria has officially left Early Access, launching its full 1.0 version exactly two years after its original debut. The cozy farming and life-sim RPG adds marriage and children, making its storylines fully completable for the first time.

NPC Studio built a dedicated following during Early Access, and this release marks the game becoming, in the studio’s own words, finished as originally envisioned.

The Headline Feature: Marriage and Family

Romance has always been part of Fields of Mistria, but 1.0 completes the system entirely. The heart level cap for romanceable NPCs rises from a lower Early Access limit to 10, unlocking new 10-heart proposal events, an engagement ring, and full wedding ceremonies.

• Marriage: Full wedding events and post-marriage NPC dialogue and routines
• Children: Optional family planning, with child-related events following marriage
• New customization: A Mystical Feather item, wedding outfits, and new engagement dialogue
• Player choice: An option to disable the automatic status change from “Dating” to “Best Friends” that previously occurred when a player got engaged while dating multiple NPCs

Completing the World Beyond Romance

Marriage isn’t the only storyline reaching its conclusion. The Town Repair Questline is now fully completable, backed by a new Mistril Town Rank Event and a raised Town Renown Cap of 100.

New quests round out the update, including a Saturday Market Plaza quest and a Repair the Bell Tower quest, alongside an extended “Friday Night at the Inn” storyline that continues after the Mines storyline concludes.

The town itself grows too. Two new NPCs, Stillwell and Zorel, join the weekly Saturday Market, bringing a Mission Board and Song Crystals with them.

Players can now complete the in-game Museum in full, backed by two new collection sets: Honey Set and Terrarium Treasures Set.

Quality-of-Life and Content Additions

Beyond story content, 1.0 adds seven new perks and Steam Achievements with retroactive support for existing save files. The update also adds beta localization in seven additional languages, including Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

A new Big Chicken mount and monster-themed pet skins round out the cosmetic additions, alongside new furniture sets and a winter song plus four extended seasonal music tracks.

NoisyPixel’s coverage of the patch notes confirms NPC Studio will evaluate potential console ports following this PC release, though nothing has been formally announced yet.

A Strong Foundation Going In

Fields of Mistria wasn’t a niche project heading into 1.0. GameGrin reported the game had accumulated more than 21,000 Early Access reviews and held a 97 percent Overwhelmingly Positive rating heading into the full release.

That’s an unusually strong starting point for any 1.0 launch. NPC Studio has also said this release is only the beginning, with more post-launch content planned going forward.

Fazit

Two years is a long wait for marriage and children in a farming sim, but Fields of Mistria’s 1.0 delivers those systems alongside a genuinely complete narrative experience rather than a token update.

With a 97 percent positive track record already behind it, the game enters its full release in about as strong a position as any cozy indie title could hope for.

Returning players who paused for the bigger relationship systems now have every reason to jump back in.
