CONTROL Resonant comes from developer and publisher Remedy Entertainment, with Annapurna Pictures co-financing and co-producing. The game released on September 24, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Mac version planned to follow. Set seven years after the original Control, it puts players in the role of Dylan Faden as he battles a supernatural crisis engulfing a warped Manhattan.

Dylan Faden, once a test subject of the Federal Bureau of Control, is deployed into the city after the FBC’s containment protocols catastrophically fail. Players explore a paranaturally distorted Manhattan, where gravity anomalies flip buildings and streets in ways that reshape both traversal and combat. This marks a deliberate shift for the series, moving from the original’s third-person shooting to a melee-driven action RPG structure.

Combat centers on the Aberrant, a shapeshifting weapon that transforms between a crushing two-handed hammer and swift dual-wielded blades mid-battle. A customizable progression system lets players tailor Dylan’s paranatural abilities to their preferred combat style. Throughout the open-ended city, Dylan searches for his sister, FBC Director Jesse Faden, while confronting the Hiss, the Mold, and other anomalies that have escaped the Oldest House.
