Halo: Campaign Evolved Cortana Restored Mod v1.3

                    
Campaign Evolved re-recorded Cortana’s lines with a noticeably different tone, and layered on far more hand-holding than the original. Cortana Restored replaces those re-done lines with their Halo: Combat Evolved originals, subtitles included, and strips out the excessive hand-holding entirely. A second, lighter file is also available for players who only want the hand-holding removed. As a result, you can choose full dialogue restoration or a lighter touch, depending on what you’re after.
Qué incluye

Cortana Restored (Main File): Replaces re-recorded Cortana lines with their Combat Evolved originals, including matching subtitle text, and removes hand-holding dialogue.
Cortana Restored Removed Lines Only (Miscellaneous File): Removes the hand-holding lines without touching or replacing any of Campaign Evolved’s new Cortana VO, and works with every language.
Retained Gameplay-Critical Lines: Keeps select Campaign Evolved dialogue where it provides necessary gameplay direction or story continuity.
Multi-Mission Coverage: Restores original recordings across several missions, with cutscenes excluded for now.

A different vocal performance can change how a beloved character feels entirely. Additionally, heavy-handed guidance dialogue can pull players out of the original game’s tone. This mod addresses both, and lets you pick how far to take it. Therefore, you get either the full Combat Evolved performance restored, or just a cleaner version of the current dialogue.
Cómo empezar

Download your preferred file and extract the archive to your PC.
Elija Cortana Restored for the full dialogue swap back to Combat Evolved originals, or Cortana Restored Removed Lines Only if you just want the hand-holding lines gone while keeping Campaign Evolved’s new VO. Install only one, not both.
Drag and drop the ~mods folder into the Paks folder at Halo Campaign Evolved/Meteorite/Content/Paks.
Launch the game and play through a mission to hear the changes.
To uninstall, remove the mod’s files from your Paks folder.

Información útil
The main file’s latest update fixed an issue with empty audio files, and removed lines are now disabled through tag edits so no empty subtitles display anymore. The Removed Lines Only file is a lightweight, language-independent alternative, and isn’t needed if you’re already using the main file. This mod covers the English localization for the full dialogue restoration, while the Removed Lines Only file works across all languages.
