1,099 games were released in American retail stores this year according to data revealed by Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR).

This is almost the same as last year's figure of 1,092 games, but EEDAR expects it to fall quite a bit next year thanks to the economic downtime, reduced consumer spending and growth of digital distribution.
