Oculus Rift Consumer Beta Might Start Next Summer
Oculus Rift might end up in consumers’ hands much sooner than previously expected, new reports indicate.
According to TechRadar y VRFocus, “multiple sources with knowledge of the matter” have said that Oculus is planning to release a limited number of beta hardware units to the public by next summer.
Oculus has said previously that it is aiming for a $200-400 price range for the final Oculus Rift hardware. There is no telling whether this applies to the beta version as well, but the DK2 development kit is sold for $350 apiece. Currently, there are more than 100,000 Oculus development kits in the hands of developers.
