Phantom Blade Zero Patch Adds Key Rebinding and Tames Boss Hua
Spiel: Phantom Blade Zero | Entwickler/Herausgeber: S-Game | Plattformen: PC, PS5 | Datum der Veröffentlichung: Late October 2026 | Patch: 01.301.524 (rolling out from November 3, 2026, WeGame first)
S-Game has started rolling out patch 01.301.524 for Phantom Blade Zero, beginning on China’s WeGame platform on November 3. The update adds key rebinding for the Interact button and smooths frame rates. It also softens one boss on the lower difficulties, while S-Game still advises Nvidia owners to keep an older driver.
What Patch 01.301.524 Changes in Phantom Blade Zero
Neither S-Game nor the outlets covering it have posted the full notes in English yet. However, Playfront’s summary of the patch and Wccftech’s report agree on these changes:
- Kontrollen: Players can now rebind the Interact button on both keyboard and controller. Bluetooth controllers also stutter less.
- Performance: Frame rates run smoother in certain areas. In addition, Nvidia Reflex now works properly in Auto mode, even with V-Sync on.
- Shader: The game no longer compiles ray tracing shaders by default at startup. As a result, some players will see a one-time compile step after the update.
- Audio: Two new sliders, Hit SFX Intensity and Hit Impact SFX Intensity, control how loud combat hits sound.
- Korrekturen: The patch fixes crashes, corrects some text, and removes a bug that broke hair rendering on AMD graphics cards.
For now, Steam and PS5 players have to wait. Playfront says S-Game has not set a global date yet, although Wccftech expects the update on both platforms soon.
Boss Hua Lets Go a Little Sooner
The most noticeable gameplay change targets Boss Hua. Specifically, Wccftech reports that the boss uses fewer grab attacks on the Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. The higher settings stay untouched, including Hellwalker and the 66 Days mode, so veterans keep the original fight.
S-Game also tweaked enemy behavior and environmental hazards. Taken together, these changes make one tough fight easier for newer players without diluting the harder modes.
Stay on Driver 617.42 for Now
The new patch follows a 5 GB day-one update that improved ray tracing and path tracing performance. At launch, though, director Soulframe Liang warned that Nvidia’s Game Ready driver 621.01 “exhibits unstable performance in certain situations”. Instead, S-Game recommends driver 617.42 and a clean reinstall until Nvidia ships a fixed version.
That advice matters, because the game is demanding and needs around 145 GB of free space on PC. Notebookcheck also notes uneven frame pacing in reviews, even on high-end hardware.
Ultra+ Pushes the Ray Tracing Further
Modders have already moved in as well. Built for Phantom Blade Zero, the Ultra+ mod, available through The Ultra Place, improves path tracing and extends draw distance. It also adds ray-traced ambient occlusion and optional 4K textures, while an HDNatureTextures add-on replaces rocks, cliffs, and plants.
According to its description, Ultra+ reduces noise and the “boiling” effect in ray-traced lighting. Moreover, it stops the game from overwriting custom graphics settings, which helps anyone who tweaks config values by hand.
A Hit That Still Needs Tuning
These fixes arrive on top of a huge launch. Phantom Blade Zero sold 4 million copies in its first 72 hours, and Steam peaked at 833,921 concurrent players. That made it the biggest Steam peak for a single-player game in 2026.
Patch 01.301.524 is a sensible first step, since it tackles controls, stutter, and one frustrating boss. Still, the driver workaround and the WeGame-first rollout show that the PC version needs more work. S-Game should bring the update to Steam quickly while interest stays this high.
