Ubisoft erwartet, dass sich Assassin's Creed 4 schlechter verkaufen wird als sein Vorgänger

During an investor conference call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that they don’t expect Assassin’s Creed 4 to outsell its predecessor.

“To come back to Assassin’s Creed 4, in our numbers we have… we expect less than last year,” sagte er.

But that doesn’t mean that the game doesn’t surpass its predecessors. In fact, Ubisoft is deliberately being cautious in its estimates. “We are actually pushing to achieve more than last year because we think the pirate segment is a great segment that can generate a lot more on a worldwide basis than what was achieved last year,” explained Guillemot.

“But we wanted to be prudent on our expectations so that it can probably be a bonus if it comes,” fügte er hinzu.

During the same conference call Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed 3 has shipped 12.5 million units to retail and that Far Cry 3 has surpassed initial expectation by shipping 6 million units.

All in all, Ubisoft racked ÂŁ1.05 billion during the fiscal year that ended in April 2013.
