Dungeons & Kingdoms is an ambitious genre-blender that asks a simple question: What if the mayor of SimCity also had to slay the monsters in the sewers? Released into Early Access on November 17, 2025, by solo developer Uncle Grouch Gaming (published by Camlann Games), it fuses the cozy, detailed settlement building of Desterrado with the third-person dungeon crawling of an action RPG. It’s a game of two distinct halves that feed into each other, creating a satisfying loop of “build to survive, fight to progress.”

The Synergy Loop: The game’s heartbeat is the interdependence between its two modes. You cannot build advanced structures without rare materials found only in dungeons. Conversely, you cannot survive the deeper dungeon floors without better gear and buffs provided by a thriving, well-fed village.
Detailed Construction: The building system takes cues from Valheim y Dinastía medieval. It isn’t just about placing pre-fab houses; you engage in piece-by-piece construction, snapping walls and roofs together to create custom fortifications. You manage villagers’ needs (hunger, happiness, shelter) and assign them tasks based on their unique stats.
Dungeon Delving: When you aren’t zoning residential districts, you are controlling your character in third-person combat. You explore procedural dungeons, dodge traps, and fight bosses. The combat is weightier than typical MMOs but more forgiving than Almas oscuras, focusing on stamina management and timing.
Dynamic Threats: The world isn’t static. As your kingdom grows, it attracts attention. You must balance your time between offensive dungeon raids and defensive preparations against raids that threaten to burn down your hard work.

Dinastía medieval is a slow-burn survival life sim focused on lineage and routine. Dungeons & Kingdoms is faster-paced and objective-focused. It trades the realistic survival elements (like rot and seasons) for combat progression and loot.


Valheim
Both games feature piece-by-piece building and combat. However, Valheim is an exploration survival game set in a massive open world. Dungeons & Kingdoms is a colony manager; you are responsible for an entire population of NPCs, not just your own Viking avatar.


Cult of the Lamb
Both mix base-building with dungeon crawling. Cult of the Lamb is fast, arcadey, and rogue-lite. Dungeons & Kingdoms is grounded, slower, and persistent. You aren’t doing 10-minute runs; you are planning a long-term settlement layout.

Imprescindible para indecisive gamers. If you often switch between playing Ciudades: Skylines y Anillo Elden because you get bored of one loop, this game lets you do both in the same session without switching windows.
Perfecto para “Turtle” players. If your favorite part of RTS games was building an impenetrable base and then sitting behind the walls, the kingdom management aspect will scratch that itch perfectly.
Saltar si you want a pure experience. The combat isn’t as deep as Devil May Cry, and the management isn’t as complex as Fortaleza enana. It is a “jack of all trades” game.

Por qué funciona
Funciona porque resuelve el “mid-game slump” of colony sims. In most city builders, you eventually reach a point where you are just waiting for numbers to go up. In Dungeons & Kingdoms, that downtime is filled with adventure. Waiting for your blacksmith to finish crafting 500 ingots? Go kill a necromancer. By the time you come back with loot, your ingots are ready. It turns the “waiting game” into the “fighting game.”
