Inspiration
Samurai Riot was born out of the will to bring back the greatness of Beat’em up arcade games style (such as Street of Rage, Double Dragon, etc.) and add cooperative features based on multi-scenario possibilities and multi-endings! Each player can fully control the destiny of his/her character, either playing coop or solo.
Art Direction: a rich hand-made 2D-only graphic style with detailed backgrounds, traditional animations (frame by frame) and parallax effects similar to cartoons and anime.
Stages: a warm and colorful journey through a mix of 3 strong inspirations: traditional Japan, Japanese mythology and Cyber Punk.
Music & sound: a blend of genre including traditional Japanese elements and some modern beats inspired by hip-hop, trip-hop, and even rock!
The gameplay: a true arcade game which boasts a multitude of attacks and furies coupled with various action-based scenarios and multiple story endings that only you can decide!
