A LinkedIn Update Just Fueled Alan Wake 3 Speculation
Estudio: Remedy Entertainment | Proyecto: Unannounced game (in development since January 2025) | Co-Director: Kyle Rowley | Plataformas: TBA | Fecha de publicación: Por determinar
Alan Wake 2 co-director Kyle Rowley has been co-directing an unannounced Remedy game since January 2025, as TheGamer reports. His LinkedIn profile lists the role, and Remedy has not commented on the project. The timing has fans hoping for Alan Wake 3, but nothing yet confirms what the game is.
What We Know
MP1st reported that Rowley’s profile names him as co-game director on an unannounced Remedy project. According to Wccftech, ResetEra users first spotted the update. Beyond the start date, the listing reveals no title, genre, or platforms.
The project itself is not entirely new information. In October 2025, The Verge noted a mystery game in Remedy’s pipeline, alongside the Control sequel and Max Payne remakes. Rowley’s listing now attaches a director and a start date to it.
Rowley co-directed Alan Wake 2 alongside Sam Lake. Afterwards, he directed the Night Springs and The Lake House expansions, which extended the game’s support well past launch.
Why Fans Expect Alan Wake 3
Rowley’s history makes another Alan Wake game the obvious guess. Moreover, Alan Wake 2 crossed 3 million lifetime sales in the second quarter of 2026, according to Remedy’s half-year report. That gives the studio a solid commercial case for a sequel.
Remedy has also signaled that it wants faster sequels. In March 2024, then-CEO Tero Virtala said Remedy wants Alan Wake and Control sequels on a more regular cadence. That would mark a clear break from the 13-year gap between Alan Wake and Alan Wake 2.
Other theories exist, too. Some fans suggest a Remedy Connected Universe crossover, while others want Quantum Break 2, though Microsoft owns that franchise. Separately, the Alan Wake’s Return trademark has resurfaced, but that name first appeared back in 2016.
Remedy’s Crowded Slate
The studio is busy. CONTROL Resonant launched on September 24, 2026, and holds an 84 on Metacritic, although several critics found its combat repetitive. Meanwhile, the Max Payne 1&2 remake remains in production with Rockstar Games.
A new Alan Wake would also raise a funding question. Epic Games Publishing backed Alan Wake 2, while Annapurna partly financed CONTROL Resonant. So far, Remedy has not said which model, if any, applies to Rowley’s project.
A Studio Under Pressure
Remedy has also faced setbacks. Its 2025 co-op shooter FBC: Firebreak missed internal sales targets, and CEO Tero Virtala stepped down that October. Jean-Charles Gaudechon then took over as CEO in March 2026.
Money remains tight as well. The first half of 2026 ended with a €2.9 million operating loss as CONTROL Resonant marketing ramped up. As a result, the new game’s sales will likely shape Remedy’s next steps.
Conclusión
A LinkedIn update is thin evidence, but Rowley’s track record makes this project worth watching. Remedy also needs another hit after a rough 2025, and Alan Wake 2’s steady sales point to its strongest bet. Until the studio confirms anything, Alan Wake 3 remains a well-founded guess rather than news.
The identity of this project is based entirely on speculation. Remedy has not announced the game or confirmed any connection to Alan Wake. MegaGames will update this article as new information becomes available.
