Australia recibe una versión reducida de GTA 4

Due to the lack of higher age ratings in Australia, Rockstar had to develop a special version of GTA 4 in order to receive an MA-15 there.

Rockstar confirmed the Australian special version but refused to reveal what material had been cut.

The Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification granted the game an MA15+ rating on December 11 last year, stating that the game contains "strong violence, strong coarse language, drug and sexual references".

GTA 4 has been rated R18+ by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), New Zealand's OFLC and the German Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle. It has been rated M17+ by the North American ESRP (Entertainment Software Rating Board).
