Wii Production Is Scheduled To End Soon

Despite selling more than 100 million units, Nintendo has decided to end Wii production.

Nintendo didn’t make an official announcement yet. The only official confirmation from the company came in the form of small notice in the upper right hand corner of the official Japanese Wii homepage. The note reads “Kinjutsu seisan shuuryou yotei,” which translates loosely to “Production scheduled to end soon.”

Wii was launched in November 2006 and it reached the 100 million units sold milestone in June 2013.
