Crytek : il devient vraiment difficile de séduire les joueurs avec des graphismes
Crytek is well known for its emphasis on graphics quality and impressive visuals in its games, but they are finally growing weary of trying to woo gamers with eye candy.
âAs opposed to the times of the original Crysis, we as an industry have reached a quality level now where it is getting increasingly more difficult to really wow people,â admitted Crytek principal rendering engineer Nicolas Schulz. âThat said, thereâs still enough areas to explore and we will definitely keep pushing the boundaries as much as possible.â
In Schulzâs experience, the current generation of high-end GPUs is still far from reaching 60 fps at 4K resolution. âThis is very quickly saturating the available bandwidth,â a-t-il expliquĂ©. âThe consoles are clearly behind high-spec GPUs in terms of raw horsepower, however on the positive side, they share the same modern architecture which enables a wealth of interesting optimization techniques.â
The PC version of Crytekâs Xbox One launch title, Ryse: Son of Rome, is scheduled for October 10th release.
