Cyberpunk 2077 reçoit encore plus d'options graphiques dans un patch surprise

Cyberpunk 2077 owners have long known their game is done and complete, with no more content on the way for the once-buggy game. Further fixes and tweaks to the game’s software and underlying processes though? Apparently that’s still on the table, as CD Projekt RED have added support for AMD’s FSR 3 and other graphical options.

Cyberpunk 2077 is something of a graphical showcase for PC gaming. While similarly high fidelity games are available, the high contrast and bold nature of Cyberpunk 2077’s world means it’s uniquely suited for a role as a graphical powerhouse. Adding more options to it just makes it fit that role even better.

This patch, which came out of nowhere, has added support for a number of features, including AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 with Frame Generation, otherwise known as FSR 3. Also included is support for Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3, and the ability to switch on DLAA and DLSS Ray Reconstruction at the same time. CD Projekt RED also made a bunch of other stability and bug fixes, and added a Utilities section to the Settings menu, where you’ll find the HDD Mode, Hybrid CPU Utilization and AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) options.

While this isn’t a patch that will break the internet by any means, it’s still a significant addition. AMD’s FSR 3 works by generating new frames to slot between existing game frames, helping to make your game feel smoother on the fly. Unlike Nvidia’s version of the same tech, AMD’s is software-based, not hardware-based, so it’s available to more people. It’s also worth noting that you’ll still need a capable rig to run the feature, and it’s recommended that you’re already running the game at at least 60 fps.

This feature isn’t new to some members of the Cyberpunk 2077 community, as mods had inserted it way back in December of last year. But, official support is always going to be better, so this is nothing but a good thing.
