Promised PS3 Exclusive Mode Is Missing From Saints Row: The Third

In Sony's press conference during this year's E3, THQ promised some exclusive bonus content for the PlayStation 3 version of the game, but this promise proved to be in vain after the game shipped with no such content.

To be more precise, THQ promised a bonus game mode that centered around the game's signature weapon. After the game was released, we compared the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 versions of the game and didn't find any noticeable difference. Some forum dwellers speculated that The Whored mode was originally intended to be a PS3 exclusive before being added to the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

The Whored mode is a cooperative multiplayer mode where 2 players fight off waves of weird enemies and it does indeed include a wave where players wield giant purple dildos and fight against similarly-armed gimps. However, this is just a single wave and the players wield different (and more conventional) weapons in the rest of the battle.

THQ refused to comment on the whole matter.
