Warhammer 40k Storm of Vengeance est lancé cette semaine
The lane battler Warhammer 40,000 Storm of Vengeance launches this week, adding to the already huge number of Warhammer titles currently in development and set for near future release (did someone at GW just remember gaming existed outside of the tabletop?) and thereâs plans for DLC too. Because everyone loves paying extra.
The gameâs been available as an early access purchase on Steam for a short while now, priced at $9.99, which is the one itâll maintain at launch. However if you want to play with a faction other than the Space Marines or Orks, youâll have to pay. Imperial Guard will be $1 at launch, and upgrade units like the Ork Stormboy will be a few cents extra too.
Expect a long and lengthy DLC run with this game.
On the surface, the game looks pretty well fleshed out. It has over 20 single player missions per faction â though admittedly, being a lane game the variation isnât huge â as well as skill trees for each army.
Thereâs even cross platform multiplayer, meaning PC gamers can prove theyâre the master race against iOS gamers too.
Unfortunately with the gameâs big release just a few days away (April 3rd), a quick look at the user reviews doesnât paint a pretty picture. Most of the âmost helpfulâ, donât recommend it, suggesting that itâs very repetitive and pretty dull to play.
Missions last only a couple of minutes too, once you have the build order down.
If thatâs the case with the final release, hopefully theyâll continue to work on it in post.
Hereâs a few minutes of gameplay if youâre still interested:
