Xbox One Reputation System Detailed
Microsoft Senior Product Manager Mike Lavin has detailed Xbox Oneâs reputation system which aims to prevent bullies from ruining games for the rest of the players.
Simply out, the reputation system will match repeat offenders with other trouble makers and away from other players.
âThereâll be very good things that happen to people that just play their games and are good participants,â explained Lavin. âAnd youâll start to see some effects if you continue to play bad or harass other people en masse. Youâll probably end up starting to play more with other people that are more similar to you.â
Each playerâs reputation score is calculated over time in order to ensure that the system canât be manipulated by a group of players to lower an innocent playerâs reputation.
âIf we see consistently that people, for instance, donât like playing with you, that youâre consistently blocked, that youâre the subject of enforcement actions because youâre sending naked pictures of yourself to people that donât want naked pictures of you,â exclaimed Lavin. âBlatant things like that have the ability to quickly reduce your reputation score.â
The system has no effect on people in friends list. It affects anonymous match-making only.
