Word in the street is that an iPhone hacking team has already cracked iPhone's firmware 2.0 which is yet to be released.

The cracking team, "iPhone Dev Team", released a screenshot of an iPhone running unsigned applications running on iPhone firmware 2.0. This firmware 2.0 doesn't work yet with AT&T locked iPhones, but it is not that unreasonable to expect a new patch for them within a few hours.
