Breathedge 2 is developed by RedRuins Softworks and published by HypeTrain Digital. It entered Steam Early Access on August 31, 2026, for Windows. The comedic space survival sequel continues the story of the unnamed Man and his loyal chicken, sending them across the cosmos to take on jobs, chase personal goals, and dismantle a powerful, evil space corporation.

Breathedge 2 keeps the original’s ironic, self-aware tone while expanding the survival loop across distinct star systems rather than a single wrecked ship. Players investigate abandoned space stations, destroyed settlements, and starship debris, gathering resources and blueprints along the way. Since danger and dark humor sit side by side throughout, the tone stays lighthearted even as players manage oxygen, temperature, and hostile enemies.

Crafting and equipment upgrades form the backbone of progression, and players can also build out and improve their own spaceship as they travel further from home. Additionally, vehicles help navigate both planetary surfaces and open space, while managing a crew with individual needs and goals adds a layer of responsibility beyond personal survival. At launch, the Early Access build includes the first major story chapter and one large exploration area, with the full 1.0 release planned for 2028 after roughly 16 to 20 months of continued development.
