Minecraft Dungeons II comes from developers Mojang Studios and Double Eleven, with Xbox Game Studios as publisher. The game released on September 29, 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. It also continues the story of Minecraft Dungeons in the Overworld. After the first game, illagers discover a portal to the Sift, a dimension full of soul power.

Minecraft Dungeons II is an action RPG built around dungeon runs. First, players pick a hero and enter a level packed with hostile mobs. Then they fight through the hordes with weapons, armor, and artifacts. Loot drops along the way, so every run can reshape a build. Meanwhile, tougher enemies such as blue-charged foes demand teamwork, because a full party of four can smash them together.
Next, the story leads heroes across the Overworld and into the Sift. However, the illagers have new leaders this time. A triumvirate of the Prime Enchanter, the Supreme Evoker, and the Grand Illusioner forms the Illager High Council. Players therefore face a bigger threat than in the first game. Still, the lone hero route stays open for anyone who prefers solo play.

Flexible Co-op: First, up to four players can team up through couch, online, or mixed co-op. Additionally, matchmaking helps find allies, and cross-platform play connects different systems.
