Stellar Blade: Blood Rain
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is in development at Shift Up, the studio behind 2024’s Stellar Blade. Shift Up revealed the game at Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026, confirming it as a direct story continuation rather than a numbered sequel. No release date, release window, or platform list has been confirmed yet, though Shift Up has said the game is planned for PC and PlayStation 5.
À propos du jeu
Blood Rain moves away from the first game’s desolate, open expanses and drops players into a dense, linear city inspired by Chongqing, China. Players control a new protagonist, Evie, a short-haired special forces operative tracking down the group responsible for a devastating terrorist attack on the city. Combat centers on fast, close-quarters punches delivered through a set of gauntlets, with a sword and other weapons unlocking later in the story.
Unlike the original, which launched as a PlayStation timed exclusive before reaching PC later, Shift Up plans to self-publish Blood Rain rather than work through Sony. CEO Kim Hyung-tae has said the goal is a simultaneous, multi-platform launch across PC and consoles from day one. As of the June 2026 reveal, the studio confirmed the game had been in development for about a year, with the art direction and early story acts finalized while combat systems and the script’s second half remain in progress.
What’s Confirmed So Far
- New Protagonist, Evie: The story shifts away from original heroine Eve to a new special forces operative with a different personality and combat style.
- Dense Urban Setting: A cyberpunk-influenced city environment replaces the first game’s ruined, open landscapes, with a more linear structure and accessible side content.
- Gauntlet-Based Combat: Early gameplay centers on punching enemies with gauntlets, with a sword and additional skills unlocking as the story progresses.
- Self-Published, Multi-Platform Plans: Shift Up intends to release the game simultaneously across PC and consoles, without the console-exclusivity arrangement the first game had.
