Bethesda assure que Falllout 4 VR est toujours d'actualité
Fallout 4 VR was one of the bigger announcements at this yearâs E3 show, but here we are close to six months later and thereâs still no sign of it out in the wild. Donât worry though, Bethesda has assured all of us that it is still working on it.
Indeed, itâs trying to cram all of Fallout 4âs expansive wasteland into the virtual world, which has proved difficult, but rewarding and the end result should be immersive, weâre told.
âThatâs the promise of VR, being in a big virtual world. The core experience, meaning you put on the headset and youâre standing in the world of Fallout and can go where you want, just that little bit is every bit as cool as you hope it would be. Once we did that, we were like, âOK, we gotta see where this goes,'â said Bethesdaâs Todd Howard (via ).
While he did admit that Bethesda wasnât entirely sure about how many copies of the VR version of the game it would sell, or if it would be a worthy investment for the developer, in actuality, that wasnât the goal of the project. Instead it was to give Bethesda experience in developing for virtual reality and that ultimately the market would sort itself out. Having a AAA game available to play is a much better hook for VR than many might realise.
Initially we were told that Fallout 4 VR would show up at the tail end of June next year, though really that remains up in the air. Howard wasnât particularly forthcoming about any revised dates, so weâll keep our fingers crossed for a 2017 debut.
