CD Projekt Red has detailed the full list of changes coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered. The remaster reworks combat, mount handling, and Geralt’s entire skill tree beyond just upgraded visuals. It also adds transmogrification, a feature fans have requested for more than a decade.

What’s Changing for Every Platform

GamePro’s breakdown of CD Projekt Red’s own announcement lists upgraded graphics through HDR, global illumination, and new shaders. Combat gets new finishers and an adaptive camera. Mount handling and monster AI both receive overhauls too.

Switch 2 gets its first native version of the game, rather than a cloud-streamed port. Owners of the original Switch version get the Switch 2 upgrade for free. Exclusive Switch 2 features include motion controls.

PC and Xbox Get Their Own Platform-Specific Additions

PC players get path tracing, ray reconstruction, and support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2.0. The remaster will also be playable through Battle.net for the first time.

Xbox Series X|S owners get Xbox Play Anywhere support. Cross-platform mod support lets mods carry over between console and PC installations.

Free for Existing Owners, With the Full Expansions Included

Anyone who already owns The Witcher 3 receives Remastered as a free upgrade on qualifying platforms. That upgrade includes both existing expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no extra cost. The newly announced third expansion, Songs of the Past, arrives separately in 2027.
