Half-Life Auteur Left Valve

Half-Life co-creator and writer Marc Laidlaw has left Valve Software after 18 years with the studio.

Laidlaw singlehandedly penned both Half-Life and Half-Life 2, but he is now as oblivious to the series’ future as any fan. “I am no longer a full or part time Valve employee, no longer involved in day to day decisions or operations, no longer a spokesman for the company, no longer privy to most types of confidential information, no longer working on Valve games in any capacity,” a-t-il expliqué.

Laidlaw didn’t rule out the possibility of his return to video game writing, but he doesn’t expect to do so soon.
