Nintendo President: Our TVii Is “A Better Mousetrap”
Speaking to the Seattle Times, Nintendoâs Reggie Fils-Aime predicted that the companyâs upcoming TVii service will strike a chord with all family members.
The President and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America went as far as to predict that every family member would, âpick up and engage in [Nintendo TVii] at least once a day,â
âIf that helps them get more comfortable with the GamePad and in the end adds to more games being played, then thatâs great,â a-t-il dĂ©clarĂ©. âBut fundamentally itâs part of the overall proposition of games, TV, plus social.â
âIn terms of a way to find what you want, to actually watch it on the big screen or on the small screen and then to be socially engaged on it,â a-t-il ajoutĂ©.
âyeah, we do think weâve created a better mousetrap.â
Nintendoâs TVii differentiates itself from other services such as Netflix and Hulu by offering better search and social networking features. âBased on the way you watch TV â which is based on shows, based on the actors, based on the genres, based on what your friends are watching â we solve that equation by letting you search that way across all of your entertainment,âReggie explained. âFor us, we think thatâs the big idea.â
